Power IPv6: Knowledge Courses

IPv6Now provides a full range of programs to anticipate the need for skills development in IPv6 network transition. Our training offers three significant advantages, all based upon experience: We have developed our own independent IPv6 network for hands-on training, we have real-world understanding of IPv6 hardware, DNS and applications, and our course material is multi-vendor-inclusive, conveying years of practical knowledge.
As IPv4 addresses start to run out in the next two years, more organisations will be undertaking IPv6 implementations. The ICT industry has an unfortunate tradition of skills shortages and higher costs during times of demand, but you can avoid such bottlenecks by making certain your staff receive IPv6 skills now to start managing the transition process. IPv6Now courses are run once per month in a 5-day program:
- Day 1: 2 hrs - Strategic IPv6 for Decision-Makers
- Day 2: 1 day - Business IPv6 for Company Personnel
- Days 3-5: 3 days - Technical IPv6 for Implementors
- Jul 26-Jul 30: Sydney
- Aug 30-Sep 03: Perth
- Sep 27-Oct 01: Darwin
- Oct 25-Oct 29: Ballarat
- Nov 22-Nov 26: Auckland
Note that bookings are essential, courses must be paid for in advance, and we reserve the right to cancel any course. You may attend any combination of the three courses as required. Discounts for course combinations and multiple attendees will apply.

Strategic IPv6 - for Decision-Makers
Strategic direction must begin at the top. Executive Directors, Heads of Information Technology, Finance, Sales, Development, Logistics and other essential departments need to understand the global impact of IPv6, the political state-of-play, and the commercial implications of IPv6 as a whole, before selecting long-term strategies and investments.

Business IPv6 - for Company Personnel
Businesses must support products and processes for customers and for their own personnel - and even those that don't use IPv6 will have to interact with customers, partners and competitors that do. People who will benefit from this level of IPv6 knowledge are call centre responders, sales staff, website developers, applications programmers, technical writers, computer administrators and database maintainers.

Technical IPv6 - for Implementors
At this level no-one can afford to get IPv6 wrong. The course provides full details of IPv6 formats, techniques and interactions, including practical hands-on exercises in software and hardware. It is ideal for training IT managers, computer security staff, network designers, programmers, and trouble-shooters, and system and network implementors and administrators. The course applies to Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. IPv6 training can also be augmented with modules that include: Introductions to IP, Security, Voice and Data Integration, Quality of Service, Voice over IP, Applications Development, Wide Area Network Routing, Multiprotocol Label Switching, and other carrier-related networking topics.

Training Facilities
In general, we can provide in-depth training using both generic and customised training facilities to reflect the architecture of your own network. Training can be on-site or at our specialised technical training testbed. Courses range from two-hour strategic overviews to 3-day in-depth workshops, and the outcomes can be certified as required. We use our own specialised trainers as well as integrating leading vendor and independent personnel. Vendor trainers are suitably qualified, managed throughout by IPv6Now class leaders.
